Super Hydrophobic Technology

 

A water repelling, low energy surface which resists wetting is a hydrophobic surface. Moisture contact angle tests, when the contact angle of the water droplet reaches 90 degrees, can classify a surface as hydrophobic.  At Protexion we have developed a family of super hydrophobic paints for industrial and consumer environments that completely repels water and heavy oils.

Any object coated with super hydrophobic paint literally cannot be touched by liquid. Without touching the underlying surface, any liquid applied on the super hydrophobic paint is repelled and simply rolls off. This is not only impressive to see, but it solves a multitude of issues. Our hydrophobic technologies can create a durable hydrophobic surface that will last a long time. Typical water contact angles (measurement of surface energy) are nearly super hydrophobic in the 115 ° -120 ° range. The nanoscale of these treatments is as thin as 2-4 nm, leaving your component visually unchanged and optically clear. A method of self-assembly guarantees a uniform and even treatment every time!

Technology
