Galvanizing Coating

Galvanizing is a process of a zinc coating by immersing into a molten zinc bath. Before the immersing into the molten zinc bath the steel subjects to chemical cleaning to remove oils, greases and oxides. Protexion provides a full service galvanizing coating facility, both hot dip galvanizing and powder coating all in one quality-controlled factory, so you can have your parts expertly galvanized and coated year round. We have one-stop solution to your galvanizing coating requirements, and have been specializing in steel galvanizing.

Galvanization is a useful method as steel can usually corrode significantly without adequate remediation when exposed to the atmosphere. By contrast, zinc is considerably more resistant to the electrochemical redox reactions that need to occur for corrosion and rust formation. Zinc is thus alloyed to iron to provide cathodic safety.

Zinc galvanizing coating offers a strong painting base when the surface is properly prepared and the right paints are used. In order to ensure good adhesion, any oils or impurities should be carefully removed from the surfaces to be painted. The product can be pretreated by zinc-phosphating or alternative pretreatment suitable for zinc-based coated steel in receiving plant to improve the coating adhesion.

Protexion is a leading manufacturer and supplier of galvanized coating designed for use on all types of metal, to provide protection against corrosion, and various other problems. Metal is extremely prone to rusting if the correct precautions are not taken therefore we like to make sure that you have only the very best galvanizing paint available to protect your metal surfaces and structures from the damage that can be caused by rust. Anti corrosion galvanizing paint can be applied to all types of steel surfaces, providing maximum corrosion resistance to ensure a healthy steel structure that will be able to last a lot longer than steel structures that have not been treated with galvanizing paints.

How the Galvanizing Coating applied?

1.      Wash the metal thoroughly with hot soapy water.

2.      Rinse the metal for several hours, and then let it dry absolutely.

3.      Rinse the metal with a weak solution of water and ammonia and allow it to dry.

4.      Remove any handles or other attachments from the metal.

5.      Thoroughly sand the entire metal surface including the crevices and dents.

6.      Wipe the tack cloths all over the floor.

7.      Apply the primer as guided, which covers the entire metal surface. Starting at the top is easiest and working down, section by section.

8.      Wipe off any drips that appear as soon as possible.

9.      Let the primer dry out as directed.

10. Carefully check the surface to make sure it is fully protected with the priming.

11. Apply the metal paint -- which should be the same brand as the primer -- according to the product directions.

12. Let the paint dry according to the directions.

13. Inspect the surface carefully to make sure it's completely coated with the paint
